Golden Age of AI, Dark Ages of AI Infrastructure

February 16, 2022

This month, meet with Neil Conway, senior director of engineering Determined AI at HPE and learn why practical use of deep learning (DL) remains difficult, what problems DL infrastructure tools solve today, where they fall short, and how they can improve. This talk draws on academic work done at Carnegie Mellon, UC Berkeley, and UCLA, as well as experiences at Determined AI, a startup recently acquired by HPE and that builds open-source software to make deep learning engineers dramatically more productive.

Streamlit - The fastest way to build and share data science apps

February 23, 2022

Poor tooling slows down data science and machine learning projects. Projects often develop a unique ecosystem of bug-ridden and unmaintainable internal tools to analyze data through a patchwork of Jupyter Notebooks and Flask apps. In this talk, you’ll be introduced to Streamlit, the fastest way to build and share data apps as Python scripts to help alleviate this issue.

HPE + vFunction: Modernizing Legacy Applications and Data Sources Faster

March 30, 2022

Today, most application migrations focus on lift-and-shift strategies to get to the cloud faster, yet neglect the parallel challenge of harnessing value from massive amounts of data.

Come to this technology talk with HPE and vFunction to see in action how vFunction uses AI, data science, and automation to significantly expand the number of applications that can be refactored into microservices at a much faster speed and much lower risk as part of an integration for HPE Ezmeral.
